Yiling is the illustrator and designer behind Pastel And Pines. With a penchant for simple and quiet designs, you will often find her watercolour illustrations to be dreamy and delicate. Formally trained as a graphic designer, she combines her love for design, art and making things by hand, using watercolour as the choice of medium. She enjoys the intimate process of making things by hand and translating ideas to paper, before working digitally to enhance each design. To share her love for this free-flowing and unpredictable medium, she conducts watercolour classes for various age groups, in schools and in workshops.
Hi there! I’m a modern city nature girl. (Is there such a thing.) I love the convenience of living in a bustling city and I’m constantly drawn to the beauty of the natural world. I live in Singapore, have a Japanese Spitz named Shiro, and I like rainy days. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)
Intrigued by the Whimsical and the Wild
Pastel & Pines is a creative outlet where I share my nature-inspired creations and joy for making things. Living in a concrete jungle, the treehugger in me loves exploring different ways to add nature and life into my living space. I welcome you to join me on this journey of finding beauty in nature. Thank you so much for taking interest in my works!
